Greek Community of Melbourne releases bushfire fundraising statement

The Greek Community of Melbourne have expressed their concern for the Australian bushfires and will be announcing specific fundraising actions in the coming days.

They released an official statement below:

“The Greek Community of Melbourne expresses its deep condolences and thoughts to families and communities impacted by the bushfire crisis across Australia.

To the dedicated and tireless firefighters, emergency services and volunteers, we offer our gratitude and utmost respect.

Like all Australians, we are saddened by this devastating moment in our country’s history and its impact across communities, flora and fauna.

We urge members of our community to donate to the Victorian Government’s Bushfire Disaster Appeal (emergency.vic.gov.au).

The Greek Community of Melbourne will be in a position to make a further announcement in the coming days about specific fundraising actions it will undertake to assist communities and individuals in need.”
