Panathinaikos triumphs over Olympiacos to win Greek Basket League Championship

·

Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, led by coach Ergin Ataman, secured the 2023-24 Greek Basket League championship with a remarkable comeback victory against Olympiacos Piraeus. The Greens, who were down 2-0 after losing their home-court advantage, rallied to win the final series 3-2.

In Game 5, Kostas Sloukas delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 25 points in the first half with an impressive 9/10 shooting from the field. The 2023-24 Final Four MVP concluded the game with 29 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Panathinaikos reinforced their dominance in the Greek Basket League by claiming their 40th title, their first since the 2020-21 season. This victory also ended Olympiacos’s championship streak from the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

Under the guidance of Ergin Ataman, Panathinaikos achieved their second major triumph of the season, having previously won the 2023-24 EuroLeague championship.
