First Mandarin Oriental Hotel to be built in Athens

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced that they will open a new hotel in Athens, Greece.

The Mandarin Oriental in Athens will be built on the coastal front of The Hellinikon Project, near the Agios Kosmas marina overlooking the Saronic Gulf. 

This is the hotel group’s second property in Greece following Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino, which opens this summer.

“This new high-standard hotel complex will become another aesthetically superior landmark and serve as an additional international point of reference for this emblematic investment of The Hellinikon,” Odisseas Athanasiou, the CEO of Lamda Development who are managing The Hellinikon Project, said.

The five-star hotel is expected to have 123 rooms and suites that will be ready for use by the summer of 2027, as well as 17 branded residences, including waterfront villas and apartments. 

“I am confident, that with this location and our legendary service, Mandarin Oriental Athens will be the leading luxury hospitality hub for both travellers and Athenian residents,” James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, said.
