Bill Papas appears at Xanthi FC game in Greece despite arrest warrant

·

Forum founder, Bill Papas, has appeared at a Xanthi FC game on the weekend despite the looming threat of a warrant that has been issued for his extradition, The Australian reports.

The game saw Mr Papas’ team draw 1:1 against Pierikos, with an equalising goal in the 80th minute of the game.

Photos posted online from the game in Katerini, a Greek town an hour’s drive from Thessaloniki, show Mr Papas sitting with Anastasios Giamouridis, Xanthi FC’s CEO.

Papas attended another Xanthi FC game in September as well.

These photos come as Westpac is seeking to secure Mr Papas’ arrest after he allegedly breached freezing orders imposed in a bid to claw back hundreds of millions of dollars from the Forum founder.

Mr Papas allegedly transferred $150,000 and $570,000 in two transactions to his cousin Eric Constantinidis.

Bill Papas’ cousin, Bill Constantinidis (top right), is also allegedly caught up in the Forum Finance investigation.

According to The Australian, Westpac also alleges money used to buy Xanthi FC was sourced from funds defrauded from the bank.

This may see Westpac the eventual owner of Xanthi FC or entitle the bank to funds from the sale of the club.

The case is due back in court on Friday for a case management hearing.
