On Friday, 8 August 2025, the Cretan Association of Sydney and New South Wales held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Ashbury Senior Citizens’ Centre.
Having completed his three-year term, outgoing President Emmanuel Vitetzakis expressed his gratitude to the Executive Committee, as well as to the members, volunteers, sponsors, and parents of the dancing groups for their support and efforts.
Friday, 22 August 2025, was a busy night for the Cretan Association. Annual elections were conducted for both the Executive and Audit Committees. On the same evening, the Youth Committee also held its AGM and elections.
The new Executive, Audit and Youth Committees for 2025/2026 are as follows:
2025/2026 Executive Committee
- President – Terry Saviolakis
- Vice President – Ari Paraskakis
- Secretary – Katrina Limberis
- Assistant Secretary – Maria Townsend
- Treasurer – Emmanuel Vitetzakis
- Assistant Treasurer – Nina Saisanas

Incoming President Terry Saviolakis acknowledged the responsibility of his role, emphasising continuity and collaboration.
“Although the role of President has once again fallen to me, our Association is built on teamwork and collaboration. Together with the new Executive, and with the support of all our volunteers and members, I look forward to an eventful 12 months continuing the good work of Emmanuel Vitetzakis and the previous committee,” Mr Saviolakis said.
“Our focus will be our upcoming events, including the 44th Cretan Federation Convention that will be held in Sydney in January 2026. We will also continue to explore options for our long term goal of securing a permanent clubhouse for our Association.”
