Greek Australians continue to play a central role in shaping the future of rugby league, with prominent figures named among the 50 most influential people in the game for 2025, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Jessica Sergis – Sydney Roosters, NSW, Jillaroos

Jessica Sergis is a dynamic Australian rugby league player of Greek heritage, renowned for her speed, strength, and versatility on the field. Playing for the Sydney Roosters in the NRLW, she has also represented New South Wales and Australia, earning accolades such as the 2019 Dally M Medal for Player of the Year. Sergis has become a prominent figure in women’s rugby league, not only for her athletic achievements but also for her role in promoting and advancing the sport for future generations.

Nick Pappas – South Sydney Chairman

Nick Pappas remains one of the game’s most respected and enduring figures. As chairman of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, he played a crucial role in steering the club back into the NRL and continues to be a key player in its ongoing success.
