The Semaphore Greek Festival is set to kick off tomorrow, bringing vibrant Greek culture and tradition to South Australia’s beloved Semaphore Foreshore on Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19, 2025.
This year’s event promises two days of celebration with the theme, “Όλοι Μαζί” (OH-lee Mah-ZEE), meaning “All Together.” The festival invites everyone to experience the warmth, unity, and joy of Greek culture while embracing the picturesque beauty of Semaphore’s upgraded main strip and iconic jetty.
With sunny and warm weather expected over the weekend, it’s the perfect time to hit the beach and enjoy the festival’s festivities. Semaphore’s glorious coastline provides a stunning backdrop for one of Australia’s premier cultural events.
Festival Highlights
- Celebrity Host: TV personality and Executive Pastry Chef George Diakomichalis will host the event, bringing his charm and energy to the celebrations.
- Musical Talent: Xara Dimitriou and Band Enosis will fill the nights with captivating live music, making it impossible not to dance under the stars.
- Family-Friendly Activities: From the “Who Loves Pita” competition to plate smashing and dance performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
- Authentic Greek Cuisine: Savour iconic dishes such as Yiros, Lamb Kontosouvli, Spanakopita, and Loukoumades, all made with love by local chefs and volunteers. Every bite is a taste of Greece’s culinary heritage.
