Stefania Liberakakis releases Eurovision 2020 entry song “SUPERG!RL”

·

One month after Stefania was confirmed as Greece’s act for Eurovision 2020, her song “SUPERG!RL” for Rotterdam has now been released.

Premiering on the ERT television show Eurovision Countdown this afternoon, the “SUPERG!RL” video was given a first play on the channel. The video gave fans an inside look at what Stefania will be bringing with her Eurovision entry.

The song has a powerful message. The broadcaster says it’s about encouraging “teenagers to believe in themselves and go after their dreams. It narrates Stefania’s own story since, as a young woman she has had to find the power to combine her obligations as a student with her dream of singing.”

Song composer Dimitris Kontopoulos talked about the challenge of finding the right song for Stefania. He said, “To be honest it was difficult to find the right song for her, since we wanted the track to fit both her age and personality.”

Kontoupolos also gave a shout-out to his musical collaborators, saying, “It is the first time I collaborate for Eurovision with Arcade, a very talented young group of songwriters and producers from Greece, while it’s always an honour working with Sharon Vaughn, a great lyricist and woman.”

Liberakakis, who was born in December of 2002 in Utrecht in the Netherlands, has been known for years simply as “Stefania.”

The 17-year-old Greek-Dutch singer and actress represented the Netherlands in the Junior Eurovision song contest in 2016, as part of the girl group “Kisses”. She will represent Greece in the 2020 Eurovision song contest, which will take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in May.
