Philoptochos Society of St Nicholas visits Archbishop Makarios for New Year blessings

His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia welcomed members of the Philoptochos Society from the Parish of Saint Nicholas, Marrickville, at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia (GOAA) headquarters in Sydney on January 2.

Accompanied by Parish Priest Archimandrite Fr Eirinaios Trialonakis, the ladies chanted traditional New Year carols and exchanged greetings and gifts with Archbishop Makarios and His Grace Bishop Christophoros of Kerasounta, Chancellor of the GOAA.

The visit also included discussions on the Church’s social and philanthropic work, particularly initiatives in Marrickville.

Archbishop Makarios congratulated the Society for their dedication and contributions, praying for their health, strength, and blessings to continue manifesting love for their neighbour and supporting the Parish’s growth.
