Adelaide United appoints Theo Tsiounis as A-League Women’s Head Coach

·

Adelaide United has announced the appointment of Theo Tsiounis as Head Coach of its A-League Women’s side on a two-year, full-time deal, with an option to extend.

With over a decade of coaching experience in South Australia’s National Premier League (NPL) and State Leagues, Tsiounis brings a proven track record of developing young players.

His focus on fostering a strong team culture and connecting with the community closely aligns with the strategic direction of Adelaide United and reflects the Club’s vision for the future of the A-League Women’s Program.

With his dual background in education and sports science, Tsiounis brings not only football expertise, but a people-first and development-focused approach to ensure a high-performance environment that fosters growth both on and off the pitch.

A highly respected figure in South Australian football, Tsiounis currently serves as the Head Coach of State League 1 side, West Adelaide Soccer Club. Tsiounis will continue in his current role as Head Coach of West Adelaide Soccer Club for the remainder of the 2025 State League 1 Season, before fully transitioning into his new role.

Adelaide United’s Technical Director, Ernest Faber spoke highly of Tsiounis’ experience.

“Theo brings the right combination of leadership, teaching ability, and football knowledge to lead our A-League Women’s program into its next phase,” Faber said.

“He fits perfectly within our Club philosophy and our commitment to developing local talent and building a strong football identity. We’re excited to work together over the coming years.”

Tsiounis expressed excitement over his new appointment and his vision for the side.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to build on the strong foundations already in place at the Club,” he said.

“It’s an honour to have the trust and backing of the Club and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I’m eager to connect with the playing group and begin this exciting chapter of our journey together.”
