Ava Caryofyllis nominated for Logie for ‘Most Popular New Talent’

Young actress Ava Caryofyllis has been nominated for a Logie award in the Most Popular New Talent category.

The 13-year-old has been nominated for the ‘Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent’ for her role in ABC Drama series, Bay of Fires. Ava plays Iris, the daughter of Marta Dusseldorp in the 2023 series.

In a post on Instagram, Ava said she was “so excited” to be nominated alongside other “fantastic actors.” She also thanked her agency T&E Kids for their support and Marta for casting her as Iris in Bay of Fires.

Ava was born in 2011 in Sydney, Australia. She started acting when she was five years old. Since then, she has been lucky enough to work with actors such as Woody Harrelson, Josh Gad, Lupita Nyong’o, Garrett Hedlund and Kelly Macdonald.

The nominees for the 64th TV Week Logies were announced on Sunday, June 23. In the running to win Australia’s top gong, the Gold Logie, this year is Sonia Kruger, Tony Armstrong and Julia Morris, among others.

The Logies will be held in Sydney on Sunday, August 18, to be hosted by comedian Sam Pang.
