World Culinary Awards recognise four Greek restaurants in 2023

During the World Culinary Awards in Dubai this month, four Greek restaurants have been recognised for their culinary excellence.

In its fourth year, the awards ceremony aims to bring industry experts and the public together to acknowledge excellence in the global culinary scene.

During the ceremony, two restaurants from Athens were recognised, with Spondi Restaurant in Athens named Greece’s Best Restaurant for 2023 and Makris Restaurant at the Domes of Elounda named Greece’s Best Hotel Restaurant.

On a global level, Greek Run Nammos in Dubai won the World’s Best Mediterranean Cuisine Restaurant, while Estiatorio Milos Dubai at Atlantis winning the royal title for the Worlds Best New Hotel Restaurant.

According to the MICHELIN guide, these restaurants are considered the most emblematic places to eat, with the aim of transforming traditional Greek cuisine into contemporary award-winning dishes.

The director of the awards Rina Van Staden said, the winners at the event represent stellar examples of excellence in the culinary industry.
