Pan Hellenic Women’s Federation to host family violence forum in Melbourne

·

The Pan Hellenic Women’s Federation of Australia, in partnership with the Hellenic Police Association of Victoria, will host a special women-only forum on family violence next month, aiming to raise awareness, provide education and connect women with support services.

The forum will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 2pm to 3.30pm (doors open at 1.45pm) at the Cretan Brotherhood of Melbourne & Victoria, 148 Nicholson Street, Brunswick East.

Held under the theme “Let’s talk. Let’s support. Let’s stand together,” the event is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment where women can openly discuss the issue of family violence, learn about available support services and strengthen community connections.

Founder and President of the Pan Hellenic Women’s Federation of Australia, Georgina Papafotiou, said the forum reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting women across the community.

“Family violence affects individuals and families from all walks of life. By working together with the Hellenic Police Association of Victoria, we hope to create a safe space where women can learn, share, and know they are not alone. Education and community support are vital in breaking the cycle of violence and encouraging those affected to seek help,” Ms Papafotiou said.

The Federation said it was proud to co-organise the event with the Hellenic Police Association of Victoria, highlighting the shared commitment of both organisations to promoting community wellbeing, safety and violence prevention through education.

As the forum will address sensitive issues, attendance is limited and early registration is encouraged.
