The match was attended by the representative of the Metropolitan of Glyfada, Father Antonios Christou; the President of the Greek Community of Melbourne, Bill Papastergiadis; a representative from the Board of Directors of UNESCO, Soula Kokoletsou; and the CSR Director of Olympiacos FC, Nikos Gavalas. The Press Office of Olympiacos FC was represented by George Plessas.

After a very long presentation by the President of Olympiacos and many other VIPs, the match started at 6.20 pm instead of 5.30 pm.

Olympiacos and Minotaur players enjoyed time together.

The match was won by the Olympiacos veterans 5-4. The Minotaurs from Sydney started well leading 2-0 and more goals seemed to be coming, but Luciano, the Brazilian star, had a different opinion. Luciano scored two quick goals to make the score 2-2 from a free kick and a penalty (disputed). The half ended 3-3.

In the second half, both teams played well and both created chances for goals. The local team had the advantage of both the referee and the line supervisors in crucial moments, stopping more than once some good chances by the Minotaur players like the last-minute equaliser to make the score 5-5.

In the end, all the players of the Minotaurs made themselves proud by matching it with the best legends team in Greece.
