Maria Sakkari storms into China Open quarter-final

No.6 seed, Maria Sakkari, reached her tenth quarter-final of 2023 after Thursday night’s win over the No. 37 seeded Chinese player, Xinyu Wang (6-4, 2-6, 6-3), at the China Open.

This marks the Greek’s fourth quarter-final in a row, following San Diego, Guadelajara, and Tokyo.

Sakkari will now face the 2023 Tennis US Open Champion and No. 3 seed, Coco Gauff, in the quarter-finals.
