Last injured Greek survivor of Romania crash set for repatriation

·

The last injured survivor of the deadly traffic accident in Timisoara, Romania, that killed seven Greek PAOK supporters is expected to be repatriated to Greece, possibly as early as Wednesday, Greek diplomatic authorities said.

The 20-year-old man remains hospitalised in stable condition at a university hospital in Timisoara, where doctors have described his recovery as encouraging one week after the crash.

He has already undergone surgery to stabilise his vertebrae and reduce swelling.

Preparations are underway for his air transfer to Thessaloniki.

The patient remains intubated and will stay on respiratory support during the flight to avoid further strain on his condition.

He is the third and final injured survivor who had remained hospitalised in Romania following the accident.
