Sydney man Peter Lionis avoids jail over intimate images and drug offences

·

Sydney man Peter Lionis, 45, has been sentenced to a two-year community corrections order after pleading guilty to taking intimate photos of a sleeping woman, possessing and supplying drugs, and hoarding illegal weapons.

Police raided his Leichhardt home in October 2024, uncovering methamphetamine, cocaine, GHB, cannabis, $16,600 in cash, and a stash of weapons including knuckle dusters, a crossbow, and police-branded capsicum spray.

The court heard he also refused to grant police access to his devices.

On Wednesday, July 16, Magistrate Paul Blunt condemned the image offence as “reprehensible,” but accepted that the drug supply was low-level and confined to a small circle.

Lionis, with a limited criminal record, was also fined $5,800 and ordered to complete 200 hours of community service.
