Archbishop Elpidophoros hospitalised after fainting during Thessaloniki service

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America was taken to hospital after fainting during a Sunday morning Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Aretsou, Thessaloniki.

The incident occurred while the service was underway, causing concern among clergy and worshippers attending the liturgy.

Emergency medical services were called to the church, where paramedics provided first aid before transporting the Archbishop to the 424 Military Hospital for precautionary medical examinations.

No details about his condition were immediately released.

Archbishop Elpidophoros had been in Thessaloniki since Saturday as part of a series of scheduled ecclesiastical visits.
