Sydney student sustains life-threatening injury from balcony fall in Mykonos

Sydney student Jacob Konaraki remains in hospital after falling six metres from a balcony on the Greek island of Mykonos last Wednesday and sustaining life-threatening injuries.

According to News.com.au, Mr Konaraki was in Greece for an archaeology dig organised by his university. At the completion of the trip, the student stayed on to travel the Greek islands, where the accident occurred.

Mr Konaraki was later found unresponsive after falling six metres from a balcony in Mykonos.

Quick responding onlookers sought emergency services and Mr Konaraki was immediately flown from Mykonos to Attikon General University Hospital in Athens to undergo emergency surgery.

Due to Mr Konaraki’s injuries, he requires medical evacuation to return to Australia.

Friend, Davee Macatangay, has set up a GoFundMe page on behalf of Mr Konaraki’s family to help with medical costs and to bring him home to Australia.
