Heartbeat of Football to celebrate history of the Matildas at Sydney event

·

Heartbeat of Football has announced its marquee fundraising event celebrating the wonderful history of the Matildas and shining a light on Women’s Heart Health, in particular spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD).

The event will take place on Friday, June 23 at View By Sydney in Walsh Bay from 12pm to 4pm and tickets are now on sale.

The luncheon will include drinks and canapes on arrival, a two course meal, panel discussions, raffle and auction, as well as gift bags.

Special guests in attendance on the day will be Heather Garriock (Matildas Cap #108), Kate Gill (Matildas Cap #127), Deborah Nichols (Matildas Cap #52), Dr Fiona Crawford (Author), and Dr Lucy McGrath-Cadell (Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute).

Andy Paschalidis, Founder of Heartbeat of Football, said: “It just makes sense as the FIFA Women’s World Cup is to be played on our shores, and that we are blessed to have Caitlin Foord and Heather Garriock as HOF Ambassadors that we would celebrate the Tillies.”

“Women’s heart health needs more attention as heart disease is the leading cause of death for Australian women,” Mr Paschalidis adds.

“More research is needed into spontaneous artery dissection (SCAD) and fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) which primarily affect women, and to understand key genetic differences which cause women and men to experience heart disease differently.”

The Greek Herald is proudly supporting this event as the Media Partner and is joined by Sydney Olympic Football Club; Oz Hair & Beauty; Waratah Florist and the Dedes Waterfront Group.

The event will take place on Friday, June 23 at View By Sydney in Walsh Bay from 12pm to 4pm and tickets are now on sale.
