Akylas disappointed after Greece places 10th at Eurovision final

·

Greek Eurovision entrant Akylas expressed disappointment after Greece finished 10th at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with the song “Ferto.”

“I don’t know if I should apologise. To be honest, I’m really upset because I didn’t want to disappoint you. I didn’t want to upset you,” Akylas said following Saturday night’s grand final.

Bulgaria claimed its first-ever Eurovision victory, with singer Dara winning the competition with “Bangaranga,” ahead of Israeli contestant Noam Bettan in second place and Romania’s Alexandra Capitanescu in third.

Despite not being among the favourites before the competition, Dara secured 516 points through the combined jury and public vote system.

Speaking after her win, she said: “This is unbelievable. I don’t even know what’s going on.”
