New Board elected for Federation of Greek Elderly Citizen Clubs of Melbourne & Victoria

·

The Federation of Greek Elderly Citizen Clubs of Melbourne and Victoria has announced a new leadership team following elections held on Sunday, May 17, with newly elected President Soteris Mavrommatis saying the organisation is entering “a new era” focused on unity, modernisation and service.

Mavrommatis was elected with a strong majority to lead the Federation for the 2026–2028 administrative term, heading a newly formed nine-member executive committee.

In his post-election remarks, the Federation described the result as the beginning of “a modern and dynamic Federation that respects and represents every elderly member of our community.”

He said the new administration would honour the organisation’s history while seeking “growth, cooperation, and meaningful presence within the Greek community of Victoria,” marking what he described as a new phase of development for the peak body representing Greek elderly associations across the state.

The full executive committee includes Elizabeth Exintaris as Vice President, Spiros Loutas as General Secretary, Anastasia Kallianiotis as Assistant Secretary, Giannis Gaitanis as Treasurer, Vangelis Koutouleas as Assistant Treasurer, and committee members Sotiris Sotiropoulos, Alexandros Delidis and Ermioni Nasiopoulos.

The Federation said the new board takes office committed to strengthening representation of elderly Greek Australians while building on the work of previous administrations.
