More than 100 young people gathered at the Pallaconian Brotherhood’s Laconian House in Brunswick on Saturday, May 9, for a vibrant night of nostalgia, music and community at the much-anticipated OPA Y2K Youth Night.
Hosted at Laconian House on Albert Street, the 18+ event transformed the venue into a throwback celebration of the early 2000s, complete with iconic hits, digi-cams, dancing and unforgettable energy.
Guests embraced the Y2K theme, dressing up and enjoying everything from tsifteteli to Justin Timberlake, while DJ Regina Rose kept the dance floor alive throughout the night.
Attendees were treated to dinner and drinks, while the event also featured exciting raffle prizes, with one lucky guest taking home the major prize – a Nintendo Switch Lite.
Organisers thanked everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success, including main committee members Miltiadis Paikopoulos and Andrew Christopoulos and sponsors Alpha Ouzeri, DFK Nugents, Gregio and Phlavour.
“We hope everyone had an amazing time celebrating with us and reliving the 2000s,” Youth President Dean Baziotis-Kalfas said.
“It was fantastic to see so many people come together, dance and create memories.”
Guests were encouraged to bring their digital cameras to capture the memories, adding to the nostalgic Y2K atmosphere throughout the night.
With strong attendance, great music and an energetic atmosphere, the OPA Y2K Youth Night proved to be a standout community event and a celebration of youth, culture and connection.
