South Melbourne FC set for historic OFC Pro League final showdown

South Melbourne FC will contest the inaugural OFC Pro League final against Auckland FC after a commanding 4-0 semi-final victory over Vanuatu United FC.

The Australian side produced a clinical attacking display, overwhelming Vanuatu United with sustained pressure, dominant possession and four unanswered goals to secure their place in Sunday’s decider.

Auckland FC also progressed to the final with a narrow 1-0 win over South Island United, setting up a clash between two of the competition’s strongest teams.

The final will be played at Eden Park in New Zealand, where Auckland FC will enjoy home support in front of an expected large crowd, while South Melbourne FC aim to add a major title to their club history as the first champions of the new professional competition.
