Greek government launches new summer programs for diaspora youth in Australia

Greece’s General Secretariat for Hellenism Abroad and Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a number of new summer programs this year for Greek diaspora youth in Australia.

The aim of the programs are to reconnect and acquaint the Greek diaspora abroad with their roots, their place of origin, the Greek culture and language.

The individual programs will start in July and will be completed by October 2023.

Some of the summer programs for Greek diaspora in Australia are:

  • Program for 45 young people, aged 18-25, from the Greek diaspora of Australia in Thessaloniki and in the wider area of Central and Eastern Macedonia – Thrace from July 1 to 11, 2023. This has been organised by the General Secretariat of Hellenism Abroad and Public Diplomacy, in collaboration with the Greek Community of Melbourne.
  • Program for 50 young people of Cretan origin from the diaspora of Australia, America, Europe and South Africa, organised by the General Secretariat of Hellenism Abroad and Public Diplomacy, in collaboration with the World Council of Cretans, during the period 13-22 July, 2023.
