The ferry link between the Greek city of Thessaloniki and the Turkish coastal city of Izmir will be temporarily suspended on Wednesday until the summer of 2023, Ekathimerini has reported.
In an announcement, the Levante Ferries group said “the exact date of the resumption of the service in the summer of 2023 will be determined in a later announcement.”
Since the start of the ferry service on October 10, 2022, the ferry ‘Smyrna di Levante’ has carried out 40 trips.
When the ferry line was first launched, the company said it would create a bridge of communication between Greece and Turkey and that the two countries were coming closer on a trade, social and cultural level.
