Greek Rugby League Australia (GRL) is on the lookout for new female players ahead of an international in Sydney on January 28, 2023.

The Manager of GRL, Terry Liberopoulos, tells The Greek Herald that any females who were either born in Greece or have at least one Greek parent or grandparent, are eligible to apply for the team.

They must also be currently playing rugby league in Australia and registered with an official club.

“We are encouraging any female with Greek heritage who plays rugby league to get in touch,” Mr Liberopoulos says.

“You never know, you might even end up playing at the Women’s Rugby League World Cup in three years’ time.”

A number of players from the Sydney match will be selected to head over to Greece and join up with domestic players to play in the 2025 Rugby League World Cup qualifiers.

If you are interested in applying, you can send your playing and contact details to terryliberopoulos@hotmail or text/call Terry on 0417 414 204.
