SA Premier visits Adelaide’s Olympic Hall to discuss cost of living expenses with seniors

·

South Australia’s Premier, Peter Malinauskas, visited Adelaide’s Olympic Hall on Sunday afternoon and spoke with seniors about his Government’s plan to double the Cost of Living Concession.

In a post on Facebook, the Premier said he spoke with one senior named Avis as she played a game of Bingo and stressed his plan to provide targeted relief to vulnerable people in the state.

“The rising cost of living is hitting everybody’s budgets, but it is disproportionately hurting those on low and fixed incomes,” Mr Malinauskas wrote in the post.

“While the government can’t click its fingers and make the cost of everyday items cheaper, what we can do is provide targeted relief to those who need it most. And this will give them that little bit of extra breathing space.”

During his visit, Mr Malinauskas also met with members of the Administrative Council of the Greek Orthodox Community of SA (GGOCSA). Later, he tried his hand at bingo calling alongside Olympic Bingo caller, Anthony Roubanis.

“It was great to have the Premier of SA Peter Malinauskas at the Olympic Hall,” GOCSA Secretary General, Peter Ppiros, told The Greek Herald after the event.
