Australian motorsport rising star Aiva Anagnostiadis began her campaign in the inaugural GT4 Italy Series with BMW team Promodrive at the Misano World Circuit in Emilia-Romagna over the weekend.
The 18-year-old Victorian joined the series after competing in the F1 Academy last year, where she became the first Australian driver to score points in the championship with an eighth-place finish in the opening round.
Her 2025 season was cut short due to injury, forcing her to miss the final rounds in Singapore and Las Vegas.
Anagnostiadis switched from open-wheel racing to GT4 competition this season, driving a BMW GT4-spec car alongside Italian co-driver Andrea Palazzo.
“I’m really looking forward to the 2026 season. After my first year in F1 Academy, moving to a BMW GT4 with a new team and new circuits is an exciting challenge,” she said.
“It’s a new experience and I’m ready to learn and push as hard as possible.”
The new GT4 Italy Series features five rounds across Italy, with each race weekend consisting of two endurance races lasting 50 minutes plus one lap and requiring two drivers per car.
