Filming for the popular Emily in Paris is set to take place in Mykonos this May, with confirmation coming in an unexpected moment during a Cabinet meeting led by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, according to an article by Giorgos Evgenides in en.protothema.gr
While such meetings typically focus on policy matters, the Prime Minister introduced a lighter note as discussions were underway on Greece’s five-year strategy to strengthen its film industry. The plan was being presented by Lina Mendoni and Leonidas Christopoulos.
During the session, Mitsotakis humorously confirmed that the hit Netflix series will film scenes on the island-often called the “Island of the Winds”-toward the end of May. The development had already been hinted at in the show’s fourth-season finale, sparking speculation among fans.
Preparations are reportedly underway in Mykonos ahead of the arrival of the cast, including lead actress Lily Collins.
Keeping the tone playful, Mitsotakis even joked that any Cabinet members interested in appearing in the series should act quickly if they want to secure a cameo role.
The announcement adds to Greece’s ongoing efforts to attract international productions and position itself as a competitive destination for global film and television projects.
