Intralot subsidiary Intralot Gaming Services (IGS) has secured a new 15-year licence to operate Victoria’s electronic gaming machine (EGM) monitoring system, extending its role in the state’s gaming sector until August 2042. The current agreement, first awarded in 2011, is set to expire in mid-2027, with the renewed contract beginning shortly after, according to theshout.com.au
“After a thorough process, Intralot Gaming Services Pty Ltd (IGS) has been awarded a 15-year licence to provide the electronic monitoring system for all gaming machines in Victorian clubs and hotels,” stated a Victorian Government spokesperson.
Under the licence, IGS will oversee the integrity of gaming machines and continue delivering the statewide pre-commitment program YourPlay, which allows users to set spending and time limits. The system applies across clubs, hotels and Crown Casino Melbourne.
The contract follows a 2024 review led by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission and the Department of Justice, aimed at improving system performance, reporting, and harm minimisation.
“As part of the licence, IGS has committed to replacing existing systems and in-venue technology with upgraded equipment, resulting in better connectivity in the services it delivers,” the spokesperson added.
IGS currently supports around 26,300 gaming machines, providing data critical for regulation, taxation, and research. Its parent company, Bally’s Intralot, said the renewed deal will introduce advanced, cloud-based technology, including real-time monitoring, enhanced analytics, and stronger cybersecurity.
“This award represents a major milestone for Bally’s Intralot and IGS and is a significant investment in the future of Victoria’s gaming technology infrastructure,” said CEO Robeson Reeves.
