Teen driver Aaron Papazoglu faces new charge over fatal Hornsby crash

Aaron Papazoglu, 19, the teenage driver accused of causing a crash that killed 33-year-old Samanvitha Dhareshwar and her unborn child in Hornsby last November, has been hit with an additional charge.

Originally charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, and causing the loss of a foetus, Papazoglu was charged on January 6 with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death, for allegedly exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h.

He has not entered a plea. His case was briefly mentioned at Downing Centre Local Court and adjourned for four weeks, with the next hearing scheduled for February 17.
