Optus has announced the appointment of Betty Ivanoff to the newly created role of Chief Legal Officer. Betty will join Optus on 29 September 2025, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Rue.
The Chief Legal Officer will lead a newly formed Legal and Compliance business unit that brings together legal, privacy, and compliance functions.
In this role, Betty will lead an ongoing program of work to strengthen governance and compliance across the company, and in doing so build trust with customers, stakeholders, and partners.
With more than 25 years of experience across complex and highly regulated industries, including executive legal roles at Crown Resorts, Coca-Cola Amatil, and GrainCorp, Betty brings a strong track record in driving legal and compliance strategy through periods of transformation and strong regulation.
Optus CEO Stephen Rue said the appointment reflects Optus’ commitment to strengthening governance and accountability.
