Over $17,000 raised for St John NT through Darwin GleNTi 2025 festival

·

More than $17,000 was raised for St John NT at this year’s Darwin GleNTi festival, thanks to the generosity of attendees and the ongoing commitment of the Greek Orthodox Community of Northern Australia (GOCNA) to supporting local causes.

The funds will go directly towards purchasing vital new equipment and providing essential training for St John NT’s volunteer workforce, who deliver a wide range of services including Event Health Services, Community Care, Youth Programmes, First Aid in Schools, and Emergency Response.

As the Charity to Support for GleNTi 2025, St John NT was the recipient of both community fundraising and public recognition, with the GOCNA receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the organisation in return.

The Community said on Facebook it was “honoured” to support the “incredible volunteers” of St John NT this year.

“Your donations make a real impact and help keep our community safe. Thank you for supporting those who support,” the Community added, referencing festival attendees who donated.

The partnership reflects a longstanding tradition of the GOCNA selecting a local charity each year to highlight during GleNTi.

The collaboration was further strengthened by the dedicated work of Mark Ferguson, Director of Volunteer Event Health Services at St John NT, who was also acknowledged for his role in the success of the campaign.
