Former politician Milton Orkopoulos jailed for 20 years over sexual abuse of boys

·

Australian former state politician and convicted paedophile, Milton Orkopoulos will spend up to 20 years in jail for his “calculated, predatory, and manipulative” sexual assault of four boys, some of whom were also given narcotics.

The offending took place in the Lake Macquarie area and on the Mid North Coast over about eight-and-a-half years from 1993. His victims were aged between 10 and 15.

According to ABC News, the 66-year-old was today handed a non-parole period of 13 years in the NSW District Court.

Judge Jane Culver said there was no evidence of remorse or contrition, as Orkopoulos continues to dispute his sexual offending against underage boys.

Orkopoulos will be eligible for parole in June 2033, with his total sentence set to expire in June 2040.
