Australian Ambassador meets with Greece’s Defence Minister

Greece’s Defence Minister, Nikos Dendias, met with the Australia’s Ambassador to Greece, Alison Duncan, on Thursday in Athens.

During the meeting, Mr Dendias and Ms Duncan spoke about cooperation issues of mutual interest between Australia and Greece, as well as the current security situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and recent developments in Ukraine.

Ms Duncan and Mr Dendias also discussed the important role of the Greek community in maintaining strong bonds between Australia and Greece, and spoke about shared wartime experiences between both countries, particularly in Crete and Lemnos.

“I very much look forward to our continuing close collaboration”, Duncan said after the meeting on Twitter.
