AHEPA NSW’s lease agreement for Bexley Bowling Club revoked by Bayside Council

·

AHEPA NSW’s lease agreement for the Bexley Bowling Club in southern Sydney has been revoked by Bayside Council.

According to council meeting minutes from Wednesday, June 28, Bayside Councillors rejected a request from AHEPA NSW to “amend their Agreement for License and Lease dated 6 May 2021 (AFL) to modify their rescission rights…”

The Councillors instead agreed to “rescind the AFL by providing written notice” to AHEPA NSW.

Members of AHEPA NSW made it known to The Greek Herald that they will challenge this decision by Bayside Council in court.

Keys to the Bexley Bowling Club were handed over to executive members of the organisation in November last year.

This revoking of AHEPA NSW’s lease agreement for the Bexley Bowling Club comes after the keys to the property at 72 Laycock Street, Bexley North, were handed over to executive members of the organisation in November last year.

At the time, Bayside Council had approved AHEPA NSW’s plan to redevelop the site as a hub for the Australian Hellenic and wider community to enjoy.
