Marcus Stoinis cleared for Cricket World Cup 2023 after injury

·

Marcus Stoinis looks to be Australia’s World Cup saviour against South Africa in the Cricket World Cup 2023 on Thursday.

Stoinis has been given the go-ahead to play against South Africa on Thursday after recovering from a hamstring injury.

“He’s back available for selection,” Stoinis’ teammate Glenn Maxwell said about the cricketer’s current condition.

“I think he was pretty touch and go for that first game. He’s someone you need in these types of tournaments.”

The Greek Australian cricketer was unable to play for Australia against India in Chennai.

In Stoinis’ absence, the Australians suffered a six-wicket loss, which increased the strain on the team before back-to-back games against the Proteas and Sri Lanka in Lucknow.
