South Melbourne FC mourns Hall of Famer and former Socceroo Kris Kalifatidis

South Melbourne FC announced on Saturday, December 6, the passing of Hall of Fame member, former Socceroos player and 1984 Championship winner Kris Kalifatidis.

The club said Kris was “a true club great” who represented both South and Australia with pride, leaving behind “a legacy that will never be forgotten.”

South Melbourne extended its love and deepest condolences to his family and to all who knew and loved him.

A minute’s silence was held before the inaugural Australian Championship grand final match in his honour.
