Greece, Israel and Cyprus reaffirm strategic partnership at Jerusalem summit

·

Greece, Israel and Cyprus have reaffirmed their strategic partnership following a trilateral summit in Jerusalem, with leaders stressing security cooperation, regional stability and economic connectivity.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the alliance had delivered results, noting: “This cooperation has yielded tangible results, and we look forward to strengthening it.”

He highlighted emerging prospects for peace in Gaza, while stressing the shared responsibility of all parties to uphold regional security.

Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides pointed to the growing maturity of the trilateral framework, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasised defence coordination, stating: “We are not seeking confrontation with anyone; we are seeking stability and peace.”

Netanyahu confirmed plans to deepen security cooperation and advance the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, adding: “The countries are also cooperating in the field of defence, as the enemy is real,” and warning: “To all those who imagine that they will establish their empire and dominate our land, I say forget it. It will not happen.”

Earlier, Mitsotakis met Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, reaffirming Greece’s commitment to dialogue and long-term peace.
