Team Greece ready for tough group at 2025 All Nations Cup

·

The Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) is proud to announce its commitment to the Greek Team for the 2025 All Nations Cup.

The tournament will be held at Knox City FC and commences on Saturday, October 11.

Team Greece has drawn a very tough group in the round robin phase of the tournament, consisting of Greece, North Macedonia, Burundi and Serbia.

GCM Board member, Michael Karamitos, is excited and had this to say leading up to the tournament kicking off: “The All Nations Cup is a way of networking with our youth and promoting them as the future of our community. All players are of Greek descent and we are very proud to showcase them through our sporting activities that the Greek Community supports.”

Team Greece, once again, will be coached by George Katsakis and Kon Tangalakis.

“The All Nations Cup is a tournament very close to my heart as it’s a true honour to coach a group of players of Greek descent that play for the jumper,” Mr Katsakis said.

“I have been involved in this tournament for the last four years now and to see the passion and commitment of the players is so inspiring. I encourage as many people as possible to come and support our team throughout the duration of the tournament.”

Bill Papastergiadis, GCM President, is also looking forward to the commencement of the tournament.

“The Community is thrilled to once again support Team Greece in its participation in the 2025 All Nations Cup,” Mr Papastergiadis said.

“We have gathered together an elite squad of Greek kids to represent us in the tournament and a very big thank you to both our coaches George Katsakis and Kon Tangalakis. We look forward to six weeks of football and engaging with our youth as they are our future.

“Good luck to all the participants as we aim to repeat our achievements of three years ago when Team Greece won the tournament.”
