·

The Cretan Association of Northern Territory recently held a ball to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Crete.

The ball was held at the Greek Community of Northern Australia’s hall and saw the Cretan community gather until the early hours of the morning, enjoying music, dance and food.

Manolis Kontaros and his band travelled from Crete to provide the entertainment for the evening and gave all attendees an unforgettable night.

Many Cretan families across Australia contributed towards bringing the orchestra to Australia and also donated prizes for the raffle.

The dance groups which performed on the night featured both new and experienced members and delivered outstanding performances, showcasing the true spirit of Crete, its culture, traditions, and values.
