Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia to hold elections this weekend

The Electoral Committee of the Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia (GOCSA) have announced the candidates of the upcoming elections for the 2023-2024 Administrative Council.

The elections will be held on December 11 from 9am to 6pm and the candidates are as follows:

Each voter must know the following:

  1. The Administrative Council consists of 15 members, you are required to place a cross (X) next to the 15 names (being your preferred candidates) on the Ballot.
  2. A ballot with less or more than fifteen (15) votes will be invalid.
  3. Whoever is unable to vote in person due to ill health, will have to request in writing to the Electoral Committee, to receive a ballot form in the post and/or email, according to the provisions made in the relevant clause of the GOCSA Constitution.
  4. Those members that have not paid their overdue membership fees may do so before or on election-day.
  5. Those members that live 30 or more kilometers away from the Adelaide Central Post Office and are unable to attend the ballot box in person, are requested to notify the Electoral Committee in advance, to post a ballot to their home address. The completed ballot form must be returned to the Committee no later than 6.00pm on the election day for counting, otherwise it will be invalid.

The elections for the new Administrative Council will take place at the St. Mary’s College, 253 Franklin Street, Adelaide opposite the Cathedral of Archangels Michael and Gabriel.

The Electoral Committee are: Pam Andritsakis (President), Carlene Vassilakis-Starr, Manuel Frangoulis, Jack Gazecimeon, and Con Bakolias.
