Following James Johnson’s announcement of the creation of the B-League, Greek Herald sports writer Bill Roumeliotis spoke with Greek Melbourne President Nicholas Maikousis to enquire as to whether if South Melbourne FC would be taking part in the B-League.

“We are ready, not just for the B League but also for the A-League… South ‘Hellas’ Melbourne is a force and has a brilliant 60-year history and has a position on the high stairs of Australian football.. this I mention for the friends and followers of our team,” the president said.

“As for the “volunteers” who have just started hitting their backs, I say, war is on us, we have a 60 year history and we will be another 60 and I believe the next generations will continue.”

South Melbourne FC’s Facebook also announced their commitment to making sure the B League is brought into existence, working with AAFC director Nick Galatas.
