Greek Australian singer, Theoni Marks, is through to the next round of The Voice Australia 2022 on Team Rita Ora.
The 19-year-old stunned during her performance last night when she took on one of the biggest songs in the world right now – Easy on Me by Adele.
“Not only did you take it on, but you made that song yours tonight,” Keith Urban, another coach on The Voice, said after Theoni’s performance.
Rita, who was the last coach waiting to fill the final spot on her team, was speechless when she first hit her buzzer and turned around.
“This is not only fate, but it was so meant to be that there’s only one way forward for you in this competition,” she said.
Rita then pressed the silver ‘Battle Pass’ button, meaning Theoni gets to skip the upcoming Callbacks round and can head straight to The Battles.
“I’m so happy I saved my pass, I’m so happy I waited. You deserve it because it was such a great audition,” Rita said.
As the crowd roared and coaches cheered, Theoni was overjoyed and became emotional.
“I’m so excited,” she exclaimed as she hugged her family and coach backstage.
After the family had left, all four coaches popped confetti cannons on stage, celebrating an end to a spectacular round of blind auditions.
Bring on the callbacks!
