Mytilenian Brotherhood of Sydney and NSW confirms 2026 Executive Committee

·

The Mytilenian Brotherhood of Sydney & New South Wales has announced its newly elected executive committee for 2026, following a highly attended and closely contested election.

Dimitri Barmakellis has been appointed President, alongside Vice President Gabriel Petriziklis, Secretary Maria Tryfon and Treasurer Samuel Gazilas.

Committee members include Dimitri Bebedellis, Parry Doukas, Vicky Gazilas, Gregory Georgantis, Terry Leondios, Louie Papadakis and Dimitra Roumeliotis.

In a statement, the Brotherhood thanked members for their participation, noting: “Thank you to all our members who voted the newly elected committee. We look forward to a productive and very busy times ahead!”

The announcement follows the organisation’s first election in five years, held at Mytilenian House in Canterbury, which drew a strong turnout from the community.

Members voted across key leadership roles and committee positions, marking a significant moment for the Brotherhood after an extended hiatus.

Despite tensions during proceedings, the vote was completed and a new board installed.

Community leaders have since emphasised the importance of unity as the organisation enters its next phase, with a focus on strengthening engagement across generations and expanding cultural and community initiatives.
