Keon Park crowned champions of 2026 Women’s Greek Community Cup

Keon Park SC has been crowned champions of the second Women’s Greek Community Cup, defeating Brunswick City SC 1–0 in a hard-fought final that showcased the continued growth of women’s football.

Hosted by Northcote City FC and presented by the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM), the tournament brought together leading women’s sides including Keon Park SC, Brunswick City SC and Women’s Football Fever Sydney FC.

The interstate participation reinforced the Cup’s expanding footprint and commitment to building strong football alliances across Australia.

The final saw Keon Park deliver a composed and determined performance to secure the title, capping off a weekend that showcased skill, sportsmanship and community pride.

The final was attended by Mayor of Darebin, Cr Emily Dimitriadis, alongside GCM Board Members Michael Karamitos, Nick Koukouvitakis, Leonidas Vlahakis and Vicky Kyritsis, demonstrating strong civic and community support for women’s football.

Tournament Organiser Michael Karamitos said the event reflects the Community’s commitment to supporting inclusive sport and building lasting connections.

“Congratulations to Keon Park for winning the second Women’s Greek Community Cup. The tournament promoted and showcased women’s football and the Greek Community is proud to be involved in such a wonderful event,” Karamitos said.

“Congratulations also to Brunswick for reaching the final, and a very special thank you to Women’s Football Fever Sydney FC for travelling to Melbourne to participate in the tournament. It’s all about building relationships and creating alliances.”

The GCM thanked all the participant teams, hosts Northcote City FC, event partners Australian Football Skool, broadcast partners Greek Community Television, Darebin City Council for their encouragement and sponsors Nikos Cakes, Peter Tziotzis Orthodox Funeral Services and LV Furniture for their ongoing support.

The GCM looks forward to hosting Youth, Juniors, Men’s and Women’s Greek Community Cup tournaments later this year, continuing to expand opportunities for clubs to compete and connect.
