Kimberly Guilfoyle’s nomination for US Ambassador to Greece advances to full Senate

·

Kimberly Guilfoyle’s nomination to serve as US Ambassador to Greece has cleared a key hurdle, winning approval from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in a 13-9 vote.

The nomination now advances to the full US Senate, where confirmation is expected to proceed smoothly due to the Republican majority.

Guilfoyle, a native Californian, appeared before the committee last week to answer questions on Greek-American relations, US diplomatic priorities, and regional issues.

Among her supporters was Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, the committee’s top Democrat, who expressed strong backing and voted in favour of her confirmation.
