Greek Ambassador welcomes Cretans to Canberra for major anniversary celebrations

The Ambassador of Greece to Australia, Stavros Venizelos, warmly welcomed the President and members of the Cretan Association of Sydney and NSW to the Greek Embassy in Canberra, as part of celebrations marking significant milestones for the Greek Australian community.

The delegation visited the capital to commemorate 45 years since the founding of the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand, as well as the 40th anniversary of the Cretan Association of Canberra and Districts Incorporated.

Ambassador Venizelos expressed his heartfelt thanks to all Cretan associations and to the President of the Federation, Emmanuel Mountakis, for their outstanding efforts in promoting Greek culture in Australia and for preserving the strong ties between the diaspora and Greece.
