Several Australians of Greek heritage feature across the 2026 Financial Review Rich List, with a broad presence across sectors including pharmaceuticals, property, retail, logistics, travel and hospitality.
At No. 26, Dennis Bastas holds a fortune of $5.74 billion after a 96 per cent year-on-year increase. Bastas, the son of Greek immigrants who arrived in Australia in the 1960s, built pharmaceutical and beauty empire DBG Health, which owns brands including MCoBeauty, Chemists’ Own and Nude by Nature. In 2025, he and his wife Georgina also purchased Toorak mansion Coonac for more than $100 million.
At No. 42, Ilias Pavlopoulos and Andrew Chepul & family are valued at $944 million, heading non-bank lender ColCap, which manages a multibillion-dollar loan book.
At No. 71, Nick Politis is worth $3.96 billion, having grown his automotive dealership network City Ford into more than 250 dealerships and a major shareholding in Eagers Automotive. The Greek Australian businessman has also chaired the Sydney Roosters since 1993.
At No. 121, Theo Andrianakos is listed at $2.48 billion, overseeing property and petroleum interests including Milemaker Petroleum and Nikos Property, alongside expansion into shopping centres and philanthropic work through the Nikolaos Andrianakos Foundation.
At No. 123, Terry and Arthur Tzaneros are valued at $1.61 billion after founding container logistics operator ACFS Port Logistics, which has expanded into technology partnerships in freight optimisation.
At No. 138, Nicholas Paspaley & family hold $1.60 billion, with interests spanning South Sea pearls, property, hotels, retail and aviation.
At No. 140, Harry Stamoulis & family are worth $1.33 billion through property development and investments, including significant commercial real estate acquisitions in Melbourne.
At No. 143, Daniel and Georgia Contos & family debut on the list with $1.31 billion after building retail fashion brand White Fox and self-tanning business Baddest Bod.
At No. 169, Greg Karedis & family are valued at $1.26 billion, following expansion of Arkadia Group’s hotel and retail property portfolio.
At No. 176, Spiros Alysandratos holds $1.07 billion after founding Consolidated Travel, one of Australia’s largest privately owned travel companies, with additional property and travel investments.
At No. 184, Con Makris & family are worth $1.03 billion, driven by property development including a major Gold Coast Marina Mirage redevelopment, following early success in food retail.
Across the list, the report highlights continued strength in property, retail, logistics and finance among Greek Australian wealth holders, alongside new entries driven by consumer brands and technology-enabled businesses.
